Coronavirus (UK June 2020) …
Three more last night,
that’s eight for the week.
My neighbours are dying,
they’ve drawn their last breath.
~
It happened so quickly,
we just weren’t prepared.
The choices we made,
have sealed our sad fate.
~
We should have done more,
not beat the wrong drum.
The direction we’ve taken,
was hopelessly wrong.
~
Others closed their borders,
we just washed our hands.
They increased their testing,
we were told to stay home.
~
Did we do this for our people,
but made the wrong call.
Or was this about money,
the economy came first.
~
In the lottery of life,
our odds are less good.
A policy of self harm,
is reaping its reward.

Hmm. I’m betting it’s the economy. As Pink Floyd said, “All in all, you’re jut another brick in the wall.”
It’s certainly beginning to feel that way. I guess time will tell…
Hang in there, Phill.
Thanks, you too.
